PET PRETTIES WALK OF FAME!!!!!!!!!!
CREATING A SCULPTURE WITH
NEEDLE FELTING
I am taking pictures of a little POODLE dog sculpture as I work on it. That way you will know more about how your little dog will be born.. If you need to know more about having a sculpture created of your pet using it's fur, please e-mail me at petpretties@comcast.net
I start with a frame made from wire then Fiber is felted onto it.

Soon the fiber starts to take shape.

Next the fur (from your pet) is felted onto the form. More shape and details are added during this stage.

The needle and thread come out as I make the paws and some borrowed black poodle fur is used to make nose, mouth and the pads of the feet.

Back diamond cut crystal beads are used for the eyes. The diamond cut lets them glisten in the light. Last the ears are made then felted onto the head. A little hand scissoring is required around the face to make it smooth.
I sew tiny pink ribbon (color would be your choice) to make collar and a tag with dog's name is attached. Pink bows are added above each ear. Now this little dog is finished and waiting to go home to meet her family.

If you would love to have one of these little dogs made of your dog's fur
there are some things that you will need to know. First the requirements on the
fur. It needs to either be the soft under coat brushing (Good for Chows,
Shelties, Poms, Kitties, etc.) or the clippings. (Poodles, Bichons, Mixed
breeds, etc.) This fur needs to be at lest 1/2 inch in length and you need
about half of a brown paper lunch bag of it.
(Note that some dog's undercoat is a different color than their outer coat). The
fur needs to be clean or there will have to be an extra charge to clean it.
Sorry the only way I can use short coat off of short coated breeds (Dalmatian,
Dachshunds, Rottweiler, etc.) is to incorporate into wool and there may be
shedding of the fur off the little dog. I hope that you now know how these
little dogs are created now. Please e-mail me if you have any unanswered
questions and for price quotes.
